FEES FOR 2021
Dear Staff and Students
The University community is requested to take note of the following regarding 2021 fees.
Fee Adjustments
The University Council has approved increments of 4,7% for tuition fees and 6,7% for student residence fees for the 2021 academic year. These increments are in line with the DHET compact on University fees for the 2021 academic year.
Acceptance of offer fee
The acceptance of offer fee for 2021 has remained unchanged and amounts to R250 for all first-time entry students.
Registration fees
The required 2021 registration fees are as follows:
- Local students registering for tuition only: R4,000.
- Local students registering for both tuition and residence: R7,000.
- International students: 100% of the total tuition and residence fees for 2021.
Student levy applicable to all students
The student levy for 2021 has been increased from R250 to R260 per student. This adjustment has been determined using the same % increment as the tuition fees.
Student levy applicable to international students
The international students levy for 2021 is R1,900 per semester.
Queries
Students and staff who have any queries are encouraged to utilise the existing University structures (i.e. Student Fees and Student Funding) to ensure speedy resolution of queries.
